Mrs Clara Agyeman was born on the 10th of March 1982 in Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana, into a family of six including her parents. She is married to Mr Christian Agyeman and has been blessed with three children: Kelvin, Jason and Charis Agyeman.
She began her basic and secondary education in Cape Coast after which she attended teacher training college to pursue a profession in teaching. She was later admitted to the University of Education in Winneba- Kumasi Campus to pursue a degree in Further Education, going on to teach at the Jachie Pramso Senior High School in the Ashanti Region of Ghana where she still works.
The nature of her profession has over the period exposed her to various experiences with the children she teaches realising that most of these children attended school with virtually nothing; sometimes lacking shoes, uniform, books and stationary. In addition, she noticed that the primary schools in the poorer parts of her community had damaged roofs and this meant that the children had to sit under the scorching sun and also got wet when it rained.
Mrs Agyeman decided to take action by distributing over 3000 free exercise books, pens and schoolbags to the children and paid for the roofs of the school buildings to be repaired. Perhaps one of her major achievements was constructing a new bridge between two communities that were cut off from each other during the heavy rains due to severe flooding. Realising the economic and social implications of the communities’ inability to engage in business and other activities with each other during the rainy season or even get back to their homes safely, she proceeded to construct a bridge over the river to connect them. This and her other philanthropic actions have made a huge difference to many people and earned her the respect and admiration of the people in her target areas.
Besides teaching, Mrs Agyeman is also a business woman running the successful Taabea Herbal Company together with her husband Mr Christian Kwasi Agyeman. In addition, they have recently established Trust TV (TTV) on Ghana’s multimedia portal.
Mrs Clara Agyeman is a shining example of compassion meeting professionalism and business sense.
